The
Music |
The
articulation of a tapping foot probably the earliest interpretation
of a pulse, a pulse from which comes most forms or genres of music,
especially Irish Traditional music. . .
The music is
definitely one of the highlights of the show - The musicians bringing
the audience with them to their feet. This segment alone is worth
the entrance fee.
The music for
Gaelforce Dance comes from somewhere between the head and the heart,
having a duality that is within most of us and emphasizes the story
of two lovers, who's love is ill-fated.
From the hypnotic
bodhran to the plaintive whistle, the newly composed music observes
ancient traditional forms that of the "Goltrai" music which evokes
sadness and tears and "Geanntrai" music which creates a sense of
merriment and is synonymous with all that is vibrant and dynamic
harnessing the dance itself.
Although the
music reveres the Tradition it also steps outside to fuse and flavour
it with African dance drumming, jazz, classical and contemporary.
Gaelforce Dance
brings together the best international musicians and music which
portrays the electrifying sound and infectious rhythm that is the
heartbeat of Irish musical culture.
